Launch Nicekit Software’s SnapaShot and its interface will show up onscreen. This interface is nothing more than a rectangle that you can resize as you see fit and you can place anywhere you want on your desktop. By resizing said interface, by moving it around, you can place it on top of whatever you want to capture.

That’s what SnapaShot can do: it captures whatever is underneath its interface; it takes a screenshot of whatever is underneath the SnapaShot rectangle. You can choose to copy the screenshot to the clipboard and then paste it anywhere you want. Or you can choose to save the screenshot locally as a JPG, JPEG, BMP, PNG, TIFF, GIF, or WDP image.

SnapaShot is available as a Free and as a Pro version. SnapaShot Free is available as an installer and as a portable version. SnapaShot Pro too is available as an installer and as a portable version.

As expected, the Pro version has some extra functionality to offer: full screenshot quality control; change brightness and contrast; printing support; add notes, lines, arrows, even a watermark; use visual effects. Please note that SnapaShot Pro is free to use for a trial period of 30 days.

Place SnapaShot anywhere you want on the screen and the application will capture whatever is underneath its interface. The screenshot can be copied to the clipboard or saved locally. That is, in a nutshell, what this free tool has to offer.

Pros

SnapaShot is available as an installer and as a portable version. Alongside SnapaShot Free there is a Pro edition (the Pro version is also available as an installer and as a portable version; the Pro edition has extra functionality to offer). SnapaShot’s interface can be placed anywhere you want on the screen. SnapaShot’s interface can be resized. Screenshots can be copied to the clipboard or saved locally as JPG, JPEG, BMP, PNG, TIFF, GIF, or WDP.

Cons

None that I could think of.
